Review of Winning Strip:
Mixing movies for our jokes is something Jon and I have always wanted to do, but we decided early on we'd stick with one movie per strip to maximize the number of jokes we could make. For example, we thought it would be cool to do something like put Sauron's ring in the briefcase from Pulp Fiction. Or put the Men in Black in a Predator spoof. However, in the end we though that would kind of cheapen the joke, and instead decided it would be better to have two funny strips, one for each movie, then one funny strip spoofing both.

It's awesome to see how cool it would have been though by reading this entry from Joe Clifford Faust, the creator of The Home World -- a new side-splitting webcomic about a guy and his talking dog whose new neighbors just happen to be space aliens. His entry is the perfect example of a movie mashup, asking what would happen if the ghosts from "A Christmas Carol" met the "Ghostbusters" weapons. The answer: hilarity!

I wasn't aware of Faust's comic before he sent me his contest submission, but after reading it and then pouring through his archives, he now has a devout reader in me. I'm really excited in seeing where he takes the story.
